API's Annual Meeting: Your Voice, Your Vote

Join us at the Moorestown Meeting House for the Alice Paul Institute's 28th Annual Meeting on Saturday, February 2nd at 1:00pm.

Our featured speaker this year is Martha Burk, author of Your Voice, Your Vote: the Savvy Woman’s Guide to Power, Politics, and the Change We Need. The book explores what is at stake for women in the political arena, not only in the recent election but in the coming years. The Washington Post review called Your Voice, Your Vote “Part primer, part call to arms with its lessons on how politics work…valuable lessons for every voter.” Martha Burk is a political psychologist and women’s issues expert who is co-founder of the Center for Advancement of Public Policy in Washington, D.C. She currently serves as the Money Editor for Ms. Magazine, writes a syndicated newspaper column, and hosts Equal Time with Martha Burk on KSFR public radio in Santa Fe.

The program will also include Joanne Schwartz and Aimee Belgard, API members who won seats as Burlington County Freeholders in the fall election, who will share their vision for serving in local elective office.

The program will take place at the Moorestown Meeting House, located at 118 Main Street in Moorestown. A short business meeting, which is open to the public, will start at 1 pm followed by the speakers’ presentations.

Paperback copies of Your Voice, Your Vote will be available for sale for $15.95 at the event and on the API website. Take advantage of a special rate of $20 for the book and admission ($10 for admission alone) to this event. Martha will sign books following the program. Join in to sing “Happy Birthday” to Alice Paul and enjoy cake and refreshments with API friends.
