      Learn to use the ever-expanding set of social and new media tools to help your downtown organization leverage the people, talent and resources it needs to get everything done and done well by integrating technology into your nonprofit/organizational culture.

      The Whole Whale approach involves leveraging tech to use every available resource to maximize impact and reduce waste. Their system evaluates the people, process, and products used by nonprofits across IT, web, communications, and networks to help them go from surviving to thriving.

      Session Details:

      Be Your Own Social Media Guru- Attendees will be brought up to speed on the latest statistics, trends and tricks in the Social Media realm. Emphasis will be placed on using this knowledge to empower their own organization’s communication staff.

      Digital Communications Strategy- Attendees will explore how to best integrate digital communications into their existing public relations and stakeholder communication program. We will look at how to best utilize each platform with an eye on efficiency and overall effectiveness in reaching the desired audience.

      Updates on the Social Landscape- Attendees will receive an overview of the various platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc), information on the latest enhancements, templates and new uses for these platforms. Nonprofit and community group case studies demonstrating how to best maximize these platforms will be explored.

      Break Out Groups- Groups will begin applying principles learned to their own organization. Attendees will develop plans for positioning, targets and goals.

      Organizing on Main Street 2.0: Climbing the Engagement Ladder & Mobilizing Your Social Network- If a tree falls in your social media forest, will anybody hear? During this session we will look at increasing interaction with your messaging.
