      Patriots of the Past: How to Research Revolutionary War Records

      Learn how to research your ancestors’ Revolutionary War military records.  Discover how to navigate some of the difficulties of researching at the National Archives in Washington, D.C.  In addition, techniques and strategies to conduct effective searches for these records both online and offline will be explored.

      Speaker's Bio: Sydney Cruice Dixon is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists.  She has been actively researching family genealogies since 1995.  She conducts genealogy research for clients as well as providing genealogy coaching for those clients who want to do their own family research.   She currently teaches both beginner and intermediate level genealogy courses.   In addition, Sydney lectures regularly throughout the tri-state area – on topics including: Using the Internet for Genealogy Research; Vital Records and Their Substitutes; Researching U. S. Military Records; Mastering Ancestry.com; A Union Soldier’s Story – Joseph W. Clifton; and The Importance of Capturing Oral History.  She is a member of the planning committee for the Main Line Genealogy Club.
