      Workshop - Turning 18: Guardianship & Transition to Adult Services

      Garfield Park Academy has recruited Adam Wilson, Esq., of Hinkle, Fingles, Prior & Fischer, Attorneys at Law, to present a workshop, Turning 18: Guardianship & Transition to Adult Services, for parents, guardians, special education teachers and support teams.

      This workshop will discuss:
      • Parent’s rights and school obligations under IDEA’s requirements.
      • Government services when an individual with disabilities turns 18 and 21.
      • Accessing SSI, Medicaid, Medicaid waivers, DDD, DVRS, day and residential services.
      • Specific assessment and service planning tools.

      This informative workshop, occurring on January 16, 2019 from 7-8:30 pm at 24 Glenolden Lane in Willingboro, is offered as an outreach service to the disability community in and around southern New Jersey.
