See more than $1 billion of historic rare coins and colorful paper money at the World's Fair of Money, August 7 - 11, 2012, a family-friendly, educational event sponsored by the nonprofit American Numismatic Association. Eye-opening exhibits include the "homecoming" for a 1792 silver "half disme," the first coin ever authorized by President George Washington and struck in Philadelphia 220 years ago; a fabled 1913 Liberty nickel also struck in Philadelphia and now valued at $2.5 million; and the U.S. Treasury Bureau of Engraving and Printing's "Billion Dollar Display" that includes $100,000 bills.

Many of the 1,000 professional dealers attending the show will give free, informal appraisals of the public's old coins and paper money. There will be educational seminars, an auction and a children's treasure trivia game.

Cost: Payment required - Admission: $6 for adults, children 12 and under admitted free.
