      Yellow Fever 1793

      1793: The first official death from the Yellow Fever epidemic occurred in August, 1793 and when it was over, approximately 5000 people had died. Learn about the dark days of this epidemic and how this deadly disease changed the city of Philadelphia forever. The 30 minute tour will focus on the infected and affected victims who were buried in the Christ Church Burial Ground including Benjamin Rush, Matthew Clarkson and more. Thursdays and Fridays in October at 5:30 PM and on First Friday, November 5 at 5:30 and 6:30 PM. The burial ground is located at 5th and Arch Streets in Philadelphia.
