      New Christmas-Themed Comedy: The Carols

      Set on the WWII homefront, The Carols brings a disparate group of neighbors -- a singing trio of sisters, a Catskills comic, a piano player and their bah-humbugging landlady -- together for a makeshift Christmas celebration at the VFW. Billed as a "heartfelt and hopeful comedy with music," this original work premieres at Philadelphia's Plays & Players Theatre just in time for the holidays.
